SLAF - Custodians of R Premadasa Cricket Stadium

Sri Lanka Air Force officially took over the administrative aspect of the R. Premadasa International Cricket stadium at Khettarama yesterday (1st November 2011) at the ground premises.
Air Commodore (Rtd) Ajith Jayasekara, on behalf of the Board of Cricket Control for Sri Lanka, officially handed over controls to SLAF Command Sports Officer Air Commodore Harsha Fernando.
SLAF is now bound to provide the required security and to carry out the maintenance of the stadium to ensure that the proper levels of standards are maintained.
Whilst the transfer of controls was taking place a panel from the International Cricket Council were seen visiting the stadium to verify its standard and to satisfy themselves that it will be ready for the upcoming T 20 World Cup to be conducted at the end of 2012.
