Admin Regiment Officers are specialized in Ground Defence duties aimed at providing security to SLAF air bases. These Officers further specialise locally or overseas, as Special Forces leaders, Parachutists, specialist Firefighters, Explosives experts, Air defense personnel and as Intelligence operatives/analysts. These Officers are also responsible for conducting basic ground combat training for all SLAF personnel, and for performing ceremonial duties such as parades in the SLAF.
Candidates who join as Officer Cadets in the Regiment branch undergo approximately two years of training before they are commissioned. This training includes basic ground combat training, basic administration training, advanced ground defence training and instructor training.
Regiment Officers on reaching a certain level of seniority in the SLAF would be appointed as Commanding Officers of Ground Defense Wings deployed for the purpose of providing security to SLAF Air Bases. Subsequently they will hold senior appointments such as members of SLAF Board of Directors.
