Registered Nurses work to promote health, prevent disease, and help patients cope with illness. They are advocates and health educators for patients, families, and communities. Registered Nurses also develop and manage nursing care plans, instruct patients and their families in proper care, and help individuals and groups take steps to improve or maintain their health.

Qualifications

Passes in 06 Subjects at the G.C.E.(O/L) Examination at not more than two sittings including credit in Sinhala/Tamil language, Mathematics and Science(Mathematics II, Science II if an applicant of year 1999/2000)and one other subject and a pass in English language. Pass in three subjects at the G.C.E.(A/L) Examination in Bio-Science in one sitting is essential.
