“SENEHASE JAWAYA” SPORTS MEET POWERED BY THE HUSMA PLAN OF SEVA VANITHA UNIT

“Senehasa” Education Resource Research and Information Centre is a childcare institution that is established under the Ministry of Defence and Ranaviru Seva Authority with the prime purpose of caring for and supporting the needs, dreams and aspirations of children with special needs. This institute provides daytime special care for children of service and civil employees of tri-services, the Sri Lanka Police Department and the Civil Security Department.

This institute provides individualized services to children, including speech and language therapy, autism management, occupational therapy, water therapy and aesthetic therapy. Also provide assistance to children via the physical medicine and rehabilitation unit, early intervention unit, Assistive aids and Information Technology unit, multi-sensory approach unit, paediatric dental unit, daily living skills training unit, vocational training unit and research methodology and project unit.

Sri Lanka Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit extended a helping hand to organize “SENEHASE JAWAYA”, the annual sports meet of the “Senehasa” Education Resource Research and Information Centre, which was successfully concluded yesterday (15 May 2024) at the Sugathadasa Stadium in Colombo. The Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Air Force Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Enoka Rajapaksa, graced this occasion as the Chief Guest.

The Junior Western Band of Bandaranayake College Gampaha performed a band display at the commencement of the ceremony, which added more glamour to the ceremony.

Several games were conducted for children during the course of two days according to their age categories and a colourful drill display was demonstrated by students and teachers of this institute.

The event was attended by the Deputy Director of Ranaviru Seva Authority, Air Vice Marshal Nihal Jayasinghe, the Commandant of Senehasa Education Resource Research and Information Centre, Brigadier Rohana Madugoda, the staff, teachers and parents of these children.
