Under the guidance of the Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, a special donation programme was held today (12 June 2024) at the Air Force Headquarters in Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte.
The event aimed to provide mobility aids to the needy family members of SLAF service personnel. Three walkers and seven wheelchairs were donated during the programme. Additionally, a special donation of a commode wheelchair was made to Leading Aircraftman Kumara, who was medically discharged from the service in 2019 following an accident he encountered in 2014. This commode wheelchair was donated in memory of Mr. Kamal Ranathunga by his wife, Mrs. Dilma Ranathunga and their daughter, Miss. Kameesha Ranathunga.
