''AIRCRAFTS'' - A HOME FOR CRAFT HANDCRAFT SHOP OF SLAF SEVA VANITHA UNIT

As per the novel concept of the Chairperson of SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Enoka Rajapaksa, “AIRCRAFTS” - a home for crafts and handcrafts boutiques, was established and declared open at the SLAF Base Rathmalana Museum premises today (04 July 2024).

This was conceptualized as a welfare measure to provide a market platform for the self employees, retired service personnel and spouses of retired and serving service personnel who are involved in the crafting of handcrafted products. At the onset, 22 suppliers have registered to produce quality products and a vast variety of items are being displayed at the boutique.

SLAF Museum is renowned for the attraction of local and foreign visitors and it is believed that the unique products at the “Aircrafts” boutique will have a high demand amongst them, which would enhance financial stability for those individuals who enrol in this industry. Moreover, the sales of the products are being promoted via online platform with the endearing partnership of DARAZ.

The opening ceremony was attended by senior members of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Base Commander SLAF Base Ratmalana Air Commodore Asela Jayasekara, Air Secretary, Commanding Officer Museum, Managing Director Sri Lanka & Pakistan -  DARAZ, Ehsan Sayan and members of DARAZ, registered suppliers, staff of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit and a cross section of officers and other rankers of SLAF Base Ratmalana.
