Press Conference on Sigiriya Rally Cross 2013

The Chairman of SLAF Motor Racing, Air Cdre JSI Wijemanne made public the intention of the SLAF to hold the 5th Sigiriya Rally Cross on May 12th 2013 at the press briefing held at the Air Force Headquarters Auditorium on 30th April 2013.
The Sigiriya Rally Cross organized by the Sri Lanka Air Force and Sri Lanka Autosports Drivers Association will be held at the SLAF circuit in Sigiriya. This time around it is the objective of the organizers not only to make this a unique experience for the competitors but also for the spectators as well. The proceeds from this event will go towards welfare activities of the SLAF personnel.
The main sponsor of this event is the People’s Bank and the Principal sponsors are Bank of Ceylon and CEAT. The Co-sponsors of the event are Singer, Hero Abans, Airtel, Brantel and DPMC whilst Cargills and KIK Cola remain the Service providers for the event.
The electronic media (TV) partner is the Rupavahini Corporation, the Electronic media sponsor (Radio) is ABC Networks and the media (Print) sponsor is the Associated Newspapers Ceylon Limited. The event will be telecast live on Channel Eye.
During the press conference, the main sponsor and the co-sponsors handed over the sponsorship cheques to the Air Cdre JSI Wijemanne, Director of Administration and Chairman Motor Racing. The Secretary Motor Racing Gp Capt CHR Soysa, Secretary Air Force Sports Council Gp Capt RS Biyanwila, representatives from the sponsors and several Senior and Junior Officers were also present at the conference.
