A Blood Donation and an anti-Dengue campaign were carried out under the patronage of the Commanding Officer of Sri Lanka Air Force Station Diyatalawa, Group Captain WWPD Fernando on 20th June 2013.

The Blood donation campaign was held at the Station to mark the “International Blood Donors’ Day” and as part of the station’s Poson Poya programme. A total of one hundred donors voluntarily participated in this worthy event. The campaign was organized by the Station Medical Section in collaboration with the Director of the General Hospital, Badulla with a view to contribute to the national requirement of maintaining sufficient stocks of blood at government hospitals needed for emergency medical treatment.

The Diyatalawa town area was cleaned by personnel of the Station as part of its anti-Dengue campaign during which it was able to give leadership to the community to clean up the area in with a view to creating a more hygienic environment for the dwellers of the town.
