SLAF Volleyball Player Takes Part in International Volleyball Championship in Nepal

Sri Lanka Air Force's Sergeant Abeykoon AMTC has been selected to represent the country as a member of the National Volleyball team at the International Volleyball Cup Championship, which is scheduled to be held in Kathmandu Nepal from 12th to 15th July 2013. The Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) is organizing the event in collaboration with the Volleyball Federation of Nepal.
The team which comprises twelve players and four officials departed last Tuesday (9th July 2013). Sergeant Tharaka Abeykoon, a former captains of the Air Force Volleyball team, was adjudged the most outstanding sportsman in Volleyball and was awarded the “Golden Eagle Trophy” in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
SLAF Sergeant Abeysinghe, who was also a former captain of the Sri Lanka Air Force Volleyball team and the National Volleyball team and who was also awarded the “Golden Eagle Trophy” in 2006 and 2007 and the “Varthrasa Trophy in 2007 takes part in the tour as a Physiotherapist.
