The Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke conducted the annual AOC’s Inspection of SLAF Unit Koggala and SLAF Station Katukurunda on 18th July 2014.

The Commander was welcomed by the Commanding Officer Wing Commander SC Wijayanayake  at SLAF Station  Koggala and was accorded a Street Lining at the Unit premises. The Commander awarded Commendations to WO HDRP Mendis (Ops Grd Sp I) for his outstanding meritorious services towards the development of the Unit.

During the course of the inspection the Commander visited all areas of the Unit and declared open the new Base HQ. On conclusion of the inspection where he addressed all ranks praised the commendable job they had performed and encouraged them to set and reach even higher goals.

During the inspection at  SLAF Katukurunda, the Commanding Officer Wing Commander BAMP Balasooriya received the Commander on his arrival who was then accorded a Street Lining.

The Commander inspected all areas within the Station during the inspection. The customary address by the Commander to all personnel was made on completion of the inspection.
