The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Kolitha Gunatilleke, conducted the AOC’s inspection of Sri Lanka Air Force Base Katunayake on the 14th August 2014.

The Commander reviewed the AOC’s parade, commanded by the Base Commander, Air Commodore SK Pathirana. Certificates of commendation were awarded during the parade to 2 Warrant Officers, 3 SNCOs,  2 Corporals, 5 Airmen and 2 Civilians for their meritorious contributions to the Base in particular and to the Air Force in general.

During the course of the inspections  Commander visited all areas of the Base and declared open the Clippers Salon, Composite Bay at AEW, New Wheel Alignment Bay at MTROW, and Children s’ park at GSQ area located within the Base.

Concluding the AOC’s inspection, the Commander addressed all ranks including the civilian personnel and commended their hard work to uplift the standards of the base .  He emphasized the need to contribute their best to the Air Force as well as to the motherland at all times.
