'Aaloka Pooja’ at Kelaniya for Fallen War Heroes

An 'Aaloka Pooja' ceremony was arranged at the historic Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya where 28,619 oil lamps, symbolizing the invaluable sacrifices of all fallen War Heroes began to glitter across the temple premises.

The ceremony was held under the patronage of the President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and Commander in Chief of the Armed Force, His Excellency Maithripala Sirisena.

The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Kapila Jayampathy, Members of the Air Force Board of Management, a cross section Officers and Airmen of the SLAF, representative gathering of next of kin of fallen War Heroes participated for the event.

Sri Lanka Air Force stands as the sole gallant aerial force in the nation, skillfully projecting airpower over its airspace and supporting the operations of surface entities.
