Change of Command at SLAF Station Katukurunda
The outgoing Commanding Officer of Sri Lanka Air Force Station Katukurunda, Group Captain BAMP Balasuriya USP, MSc (Def & Strat Stu), MSc (Def Stu) in Mgt, BA (Def Stu), psc handed over duties to Group Captain HWR Chandima RWP, RSP, USP during the traditional Change of Command Parade yesterday (10 Sep 2019).
Group Captain BAMP Balasuriya USP, MSc (Def & Strat Stu), MSc (Def Stu) in Mgt, BA (Def Stu), psc took over Command of SLAF Station Katukurunda on 02 March 2014 and will be proceeding as Officer Commanding of SLAF Detachment Maththala.
Group Captain HWR Chandima RWP, RSP, USP held the appointment of Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Ampara prior to being appointed as the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Katukurunda.
The ceremonial Handing over/Taking over Parade took place at the Station parade area and was commanded by Squadron Leader WLI Udaya Kumara.
The outgoing Commanding Officer addressed the parade and all personnel of the Station, thanked them for the support they had extended during his tenure as the Commanding Officer.
