The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias conducted the Commander’s Inspection of SLAF Station Bandaranayake International Airport(BIA) today (02 October 2019). The Commanding Officer, Group Captain Senaka Fernandopulle received the Commander and accorded a street lining on his arrival.

Commander inspected the Station premises, and a certificate of commendation was awarded to Mr. ASP Wijethunga (Laborer) in recognition of his exceptional dedication in the execution of duties during the past year.

Thereafter, speaking at the occasion the Commander appreciated the service rendered by all Officers and Staff to ensure the security of Aircraft and passengers during the Easter attack which took place in 21 April.  Moreover, he emphasized that the station has brought credit to the Sri Lanka Air Force through curbing the flow of drugs, weapons and unauthorized personnel into the country and finally appreciated the commendable effort taken by all Officers, Staff and Civilians in maintaining the standards of the Station at a highest level.
