The Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear and Explosive Wing of the SLAF continues to assist in the quarantine and disinfecting effort hand in hand with medical teams at the Bandaranayake International Airport (BIA) which is the main air transportation hub of the island.

All passengers arriving from countries which are required to be quarantined are properly disinfected and handed over to SL Army personnel who transport them to respective quarantine facilities.

The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sumangala Dias also visited Air Force Troops deployed at the BIA yesterday(15 March 2020). The Commanding Officer of SLAF Station BIA, Air Commodore Janaka Amarasinghe and the Commanding Officer of the SLAF CBRNE Wing, Wing Commander Nilendra Perera also participated for the visit where they briefed the Commander on the present situation at the Airport.
