SLAF Station Weerawila saw a change in its command today (21 July 2020) as the outgoing Commanding Officer, Group Captain KMK Keppetipola MBA (PIM-USJ), MDS (UoK), BA (Def Stu) Hons, FIPM, AMITD (SL), AMIM (SL), psc handed over the duties to Group Captain VTS Sirimanne USP, MDS, MPM, MCR, LLB, Attorney at Law, Notary Public, Commissioner for Oaths, Pg Dip (IR), AMIPM, MIM (SL), psc.
 
The traditional Handing Over / Taking Over Parade took place today where the Outgoing Commanding Officer addressed the Station and thanked all personnel for the support they extended to him during his tenure as the Commanding Officer.

Group Captain Keppetipola will be proceeding overseas for further educational purposes. The new Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Weerawila, held the appointment of Staff Officer Org at the Directorate of Administration, Air Force Headquarters before being appointed to command SLAF Station Weerawila.
