The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana, paid homage to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth in Kandy this morning (7th November 2020) seeking blessings on his new appointment as the 18th Commander. On behalf of the Diyawadana Nilame of the Temple of the Tooth, Mr. Mahendra Ratwatte, the Basnayake Nilame of Sri Maha Vishnu Devalaya of Kandy received the Commander on his arrival.

After his visit to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth, the Commander called on the Chief Incumbent of the Asgiriya Chapter, Most Venerable Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Thero and thereafter, the Chief Incumbent of the Malwathu Chapter, Most Venerable Thibbatuwawe Sri Siddhartha Sumangala Thero. The Commander together with his family also made a special visit to the Dalukgolla Sri Purwarama Rajamaha Viharaya in Ampitiya which is in close proximity of his residence.

During today’s visit, Air Marshal Pathirana was accompanied by his family members and several SLAF personnel as well.
