CHANGE OF COMMAND AT SLAF STATION PALALY

The Outgoing Acting Commanding Officer, Group Captain WR De Zoysa WWV, RSP and two bars, BSc (Def Stu) handed over duties to Group Captain WPAH Perera RSP and Bar, MSc (Def & Strat Stu), MA (SSS-USA), BSc (Def Stu), ctf-ndu, psc. The Ceremonial Handing Over/ Taking Over Parade took place at the Station Parade Square today (29 January 2021).
The outgoing Acting Commanding Officer took over Command of the Station on 28 July 2020 and had served at the position for more than five months. During his tenure he has taken many steps to develop the Station as well as to improve facilities for Officers and Airmen/ Airwomen.
The outgoing Commanding Officer thanked all personnel of SLAF Station Palaly for the support they extended to him during his tenure as the Acting Commanding Officer and wished all members of the Station a successful future.
Group Captain Perera was previously performing duties at No. 8 Squadron as the Commanding Officer and is an experienced pilot who has flown aircrafts such as Y-12, Beechcraft, MA-60, AN 32, C130 Hercules and the Cessna 421 Golden Eagle.
