With the assistance of Negombo Municipal Fire Prevention Division and Katunayake BOI (Board of Invesment), Fire Section at SLAF Base Katunayake was able to completely douse the fire that erupted at a restaurant in Kurana , Kanuwanwa area this morning (23 July 2022).

According to information given by residents, the Air Force Base Katunayake send two firefighting trucks and a water bowser with Air Force Firefighters immediately to douse the fire, which burned around four stores. The Air Force Firefighters were able to entirely control the fire after conducting this mission from 0345 hours to 0700 hours  in the morning.
