INDO – PACIFIC ENDEAVOR 2022 CONCLUDES IN A SUCCESSFUL NOTE

HMAS Adelaide and HMAS Anzac the two (02) Royal Australian Naval Vessels arrived to Sri Lankan seas on 25th October 2022 to engage with Indo – Pacific Endeavour-2022 (IPE-22). The Australian Defence Force spearheaded this maritime and air effort to increase Australia's interaction and partnerships with regional security forces.
Under the leadership of the Commander Joint Task Force for IPE-22, Commodore Mal Wise, knowledge-sharing sessions were conducted with the representation of a group of Officers from the SLAF.
As a part of the endeavour, fun-filled recreation activities were facilitated at SLAF Health Management Centre, Thummulla and SLAF Base Ratmalana during the evening on the same day where a friendly interaction was hosted by organizing Volleyball, Basketball and Water Polo matches between SLAF and visiting Australian military delegation. The events were concluded in a thrilling manner which could boost the comradeship between the two militaries.
Meanwhile, an event of floral tribute was conducted today (26 October 2022) at the Royal Canadian Air Force War Memorial mounted at SLAF Station Koggala. The Commander Joint Task Force for Indo – Pacific Endeavour 2022, Commodore Mal Wise and visiting Australian dignitaries paid the floral tribute to the fallen heroes of the Royal Canadian Air Force, who made the supreme sacrifice at the Defence of Ceylon during World War II. The event was hosted under the supervision of Commanding Officer SLAF Station Koggala, Group Captain Thilina Rajapaksha.
The ceremony was attended by the General Officer Commanding 61 Division, Major General Mohan Rathnayake, Commander Southern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Harindra Ekanayake, all officers and other ranks of the Station.
