Air Vice Marshal Roshan Biyanwila was appointed as the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Air Force effective from 01 January 2023. Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Sudarshana Pathirana officially handed over the letter of appointment to Air Vice Marshal Roshan Biyanwila at the Air Force Headquarters and conveyed his best wishes to the newly appointed Deputy Chief of Staff.

Air Vice Marshal Roshan Biyanwila is a distinguished past student of St. Peter’s College Colombo. He joined the Sri Lanka Air Force as an Officer Cadet of the 19th intake in 1988. Upon successful completion of his Basic and Advanced Administrative Courses from the Sri Lanka Air Force Academy China Bay, he was commissioned in the rank of Pilot Officer in 1990.

During his service career he has served in different parts of the country and significantly he was a member of the Directing Staff at Junior Command and Staff College Sir Lanka Air Force Academy China Bay in 2003/2005. He was the Staff Officer to the Commander of the Air Force in 2011 and was appointed as the Air Secretary from 28th February 2011 to 27th February 2014. Also he held the appointment of Deputy Director Administration (Personnel) in SLAF.    

Air Vice Marshal Biyanwila performs his duties as the Deputy Chief Staff of the Sri Lanka Air Force, while serving in the appointment of Director General Administration.
