Commander's Annual Inspection of SLAF base Hingurakkgoda

The Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrema reviewed the parade which was commanded by the Base Commander Gp Capt Udeni Rajapakse.
During the inspection tour of the base the Commander ceremonially opened the Skymart – the Hingurakkgoda branch of the Command Welfare Shop which the Base Commander claims if the best within a 30 miles radius. The Commander also declared open Sky Bakers – the bakery of the base which is to cater to the internal customers of the base A Gymnasium complete with squash court, exercise machines, weight lifting equipment and an airconditioned exercise area was also declared open during the AOCs visit.
The Commander also visited the Air Force Preschool where he inspected the new class room and then was taken around the agricultural projects of the base. The base todate grows paddy, banana, corn, assorted vegetables and papaya which is sold at concessionary prices to personnel of the base.
After the all ranks lunch, the Commander addressed all ranks where he thanked all personnel for the efforts in making the SLAF what it is today. He also requested all ranks to continue to work for the organization and the ongoing development of the country.
