SLAF Rugerittes Triumph against all Odds

Sri Lanka Air Force rugerittes put on a valiant effort to defeat CH & FC in a enthralling encounter at the Caltex Rugby Tournament worked off at the CCC ground at Maitland Place yesterday (16th July 2011).

In the first half both teams fought equally well until the latter stage when SLAF’s Radhika Hettiarachchi converted try by  Chanaka Chandimal putting the SLAF in the lead by 7 points to nil.

However not giving up CH registered 12 points with two tries by Lakmal Jayasinghe and Salu Salu, whereas Indika Wickramasinghe converted one posing a challenge to the SLAF players. The SLAF rugerittes managed to score 10 points with a try by Gayan Iddamalgoda which was converted by Charith Seneviratna who also managed to score a penalty.

Subsequently the SLAF rugerittes established their dominance clinching victory with a final score of 17 – 12 points.
