The Sri Lanka Air Force Teakwondo Team participated in the National Teakwondo Championship 2012 conducted at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium on 05th and 06th March 2012 and was successful in clinching the runners up trophy at the event.

 The SLAF Teakwondo team comprising of both men and women performed exceptionally well to grab 01 Gold, 04 Silver, 06 bronze medals. Further, for the first time in Air Force Teakwondo history, five players including three males and two females have been selected for the Sri Lanka Teakwondo Pool for the preparation of the South Asian Federation games in 2012.

His Excellency Jongmoon Choi, Ambassador of South Korea graced the occasion as the chief guest and distributed the awards. This was the second major Championship participated by the SLAF Teakwondo Team after its inception in August 2011. The team is trained under the guidance of AC Rathnasekara RM at SLAF Katukurunda.
