The Commander of the Sri Lanka Air Force Air Marshal HD Abeywickrama conducted AOCs Inspection during the morning hours at SLAF Station Ampara on 24 May 2012.The Commander was welcomed by Commanding officer Group Captain  NNDA Nanayakkara and was accorded a street lining on arrival. Covering all areas of the Station, the Commander inspected Station HQ, Main Guard room, MT section, Equipment section, Hospital, Stone Quarry, WOs and Sergeant Mess, Officers Mess and Training Wing.

During the inspection the Commander declared open the newly constructed airmen holiday home and awarded certificates of commendation to 22294 Sgt Gunawardana AFHI (Sp) 1 and 5333 Mr BM Dharmadasa (labour) in appreciation of their valuable service rendered to the development of the SLAF Station Ampara.

The Commander concluded the inspection by addressing all ranks of SLAF Station Ampara.
