The SLAF played in the first match of the Caltex league against the SL Navy, at Ratmalana (29th June 2012) evening.

SL Navy won the game 55 - 15.  Tries  were scored by (SLAF) Gayantha Iddamalgoda, Charith Senavirathne & Mithun Gunasekara.

The game was attended by the First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksha , Mrs. Nelika Abeywickrama and also  were present commander of the Sri Lanka Navy Vice Admiral DWAS Dissanayake, Director of Operation Air vice Marshal GP Bulathsinghala, Director Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering Air vice Marshal RJ Pathirage, Director Training Air vice Marshal K Yahampath, Ratmalana Base Commander Air Commodore MLK Perera, Chairman of SLAF Rugger WLRP Rodrigo.
