SLAF Conducts Fire Evacuation Drill at Millennium Information Technologies

Air Force firefighters carried out a Fire Evacuation drill at the
Millennium Information Technologies (Pvt)Ltd located
Malambe.
This exercise was conducted to introduce the occupants of the building to the procedures to be adopted in the event of a fire and to familiarize firefighters with the Millennium Information technologies building whilst honing their skills.
While the simulated flames were doused using Fire trucks with heavy duty water hoses, the SLAF firemen demonstrated several rescue tactics such as Aerial Rope Rescue and high angle rescue using the Bronto sky-lifter. The crew also demonstrated operating and using of ‘Jumping Sheet’ (an Inflated Landing Pad) which was placed on the ground.
48 SLAF personnel participated in the Fire Evacuation Drill and also the Acting Chief Fire Officer Wing Commander JARN Jayasingha and Officer in Charge of the SLAF firefighters Squadron Leader Chamil Hettiarachchi guided the SLAF Fire fighters to perform the evacuation drill smoothly.
