The Air Force Netball team became the Defence Services Netball champions this afternoon (29 October 2009) as they beat the Sri Lanka Army team 42 to 36 (10-10, 09-11, 13-06 & 10-04). The Air force team has maintained their victorious record since the year 2000 and there on which they have won the said championship on 09 consecutive occasions.

Earlier in the tournament the Air Force women beat the Navy 42 to 18, in order to proceed and face the Army team in the finals.
