Sri Lanka Air Force, in coordination with the Disaster Management Centre, deployed a Bell 212 Helicopter to assist in fire fighting in the forest area around the Somawathi Chaithya. The Bell 212 completed six Bambi Bucket runs over the fire, dumping nine hundred liters of water on each run.
