The Colour awards ceremony
2010-2011 of the Sri Lanka Air Force was held at the Water’s Edge hotel
this evening; 17 August, 2012. The Commander of the Air Force Air
Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama graced the occasion as the chief guest. The
ceremony is a great feature in the SLAF sporting calendar which is held
to felicitate and encourage its sportsmen and women who have earned
credit and honour during the past two years.
The Vartharasa trophy for the most outstanding sportsman was awarded to Sergeant Ekanayake for Beach Volleyball and to Corporal Wijerathne for Weight Lifting for the years of 2010 and 2011 respectively.
The special awards of the colours night were awarded to the following sporting figures

A total of 336 Sports men and women in 29 Sports disciplines were honoured at this grand ceremony in which the 43 persons mentioned below received the Golden Eagle award for remarkable performance displayed during the years 2010 and 2011 respectively.
Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal Harsha Abeywickrama, members of the Board of Management, senior ranking officers and members of the various sports disciplines of the SLAF were also present at the grand ceremony.
