Inter Unit Basket Ball Championship 2012
Sri Lanka Air Force Station Colombo Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams won the Inter unit Basket Ball Championship 2012 which was worked off for five days at the Tummulla Sport Complex from 10 September to 14 September 2012.
In the men’s final, SLAF Colombo beat Tech Formation of the SLAF Base Katunayaka 64-56 and in the women's final, SLAF Colombo beat SLAF Diyathalawa team 52-42.LAC Dodangoda and LAC Perera of SLAF Station Colombo were awarded as the best male and female offensive players whilst Flt Lt Perera of the Katunayaka Tech Formation and LAC Fernando of the SLAF Diyathalawa were awarded as the best male and female defensive players.
The Comanding Officer Sri Lanka Air Force Station Colombo Air Commodore KFR Fernando graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, the Chairman of Sri Lanka Air force Basketball Group Captain Amarakon, Officers and other ranks of the SLAF were also present at the event.
