SLAF Base Anuradhapura clinched a
21 run win over SLAF Academy China Bay at the Air Force Inter Unit

The keenly contested match saw Academy China Bay win the toss and inviting the team from Base Anuradhapura to bat first. Sqn Ldr PNJ Silva displayed some excellent strokes, notching up 29 runs to become the top scorer helping the side reach 120 for nine wickets in their 20 overs.
SLAF Academy China Bay coming into bat struggled against a superb bowling attack of the SLAF Base Ahp . Plt Off Polgampola top scored with 25 in the team’s total of 110 runs all out in 19.4 overs.
The award for Best Bowler went to Flt lt Fernandupulle of Base Anuradhapura who managed to pick up multiple awards as he was also awarded the Man of the Series award. The best batsman of the tournament was awarded to Sqn Ldr PNJ Silva from SLAF Base Anuradhapura.
Meanwhile the women’s inter unit soft ball cricket championship was also worked out on the same day at SLAF Base Anuradhapura and was won by SLAF Base Anuradhapura. SLAF Diyatalawa scored 115 for 8 wickets in their 10 overs while Base Anuradhapura managed to chase down the target of 116 in only 7.2 overs with 5 wickets in hand.
21st Brigade Commander Brigadier Anura Silva was Chief Guest at the occasion and Director Administration and Chairman of SLAF Cricket Air Commodore JSI Wijemanna and Base Commander of the SLAF Base Anuradhapura Group Captain SJS Fernando also attended.
