Aircrew Water and Jungle Survival Training 10-12

The second “Aircrew Water and Jungle Survival Training 10-12” was conducted successfully at the Sri Lanka Air Force Station Ampara from 08th to the 16th October 2012. Nineteen aircrew members took part in this training. The exercise was conducted under the guidance of D Ops AVM GP Bulathsinghala with Director Health Services Air Commodore S Karunarathne leading and coordinating the exercise along with three aircrew survival instructors.
The aim of this exercise was to enhance the knowledge and skills of aircrew, to survive in actual crash/force landing/ejection above water or over a jungle area and to give practical experience in survival. The exercise was planned to give the trainees the required theoretical and practical experience culminating in a Field Training Exercise (FTX).
The closing ceremony was held on 16th October 2012 with Air Commodore HMSKB Kotakadeniya, Base Commander Sri Lanka Air Force Base Rathmalana participating as the Chief Guest. Certificates were awarded to the trainees who successfully completed the training.
