As per the directive of the Commander of the Air Force the Unit Headquarters building was shifted to the newly renovated two storied building situated near the main guard room. The new Unit Headquarters was declared open by the Wing Commander WMAB Wewegama, Commanding Officer of the Sri Lanka Air Force Unit Batticaloa on 04th November 2012 amidst the blessings of all religious leaders who were present at the ceremony.

The new Unit Headquarters consists of an officers’ office complex, conference hall, visitor’s area, UWO’s office and an office for civilian administration. All officers, airmen and the civil staff of the Sri Lanka Air Force Unit Batticaloa took part tirelessly to inaugurate this building within a short period of time with the assistance and guidance of the Air Force Headquarters.
