A Mass was held at the Sri Lanka Air Force Diyatalawa to mark its 60th Anniversary Celebration under the patronage of Rt. Rev. Dr Vincent Fernando, the Bishop of the Uva Province on the 04th Nov 2012.

The Air Force flag, service personnel and all trainees were blessed at this ceremony which was held for the first time at the cradle of the SLAF. The late war heroes were also remembered at this ceremony.
 
The Parish Priest of Diyatalawa Rev. Fr. Sujith Cooray and Rev. Fr. Jude of the St. Benedictine Seminary, Adisham, Haputale accompanied the Bishop of Uva to conduct the historic religious ceremony.
