The Formation Day celebration began with a parade held at the Base Parade Square with the Commanding Officer of the Sri Lanka Air Force Museum Wg Cdr CB Liyanage inspecting the parade.

As part of the Formation Day celebrations children from the Nagoshi Children’s Home, Papiliyana were taken on a guided tour of the Air Force Museum with refreshment and entertainment also provided to them. Mattresses and gift packs were handed over to all the children who visited the Air Force Museum and personnel of Air Force Museum also conducted a shramadana programme at Nagoshi Children’s Home, Papiliyana and renovated the washroom facilities at the home.
