Opening Ceremony of Aero Medical Examination Unit at SLAF Academy Hospital China Bay

The SLAF Academy China Bay, the nerve centre of training for the
military aviators, marked the opening ceremony of the 2nd Aero Medical
Examination Unit in the SLAF on 17 January 2013. The Flight Cadets who
undergo training at this Academy, Flying Instructors, as well as the
Aircrew members of the Flying Squadrons from nearby SLAF Bases can also
avail this opportunity preventing the requirement to travel a long
distance to Colombo for their Aircrew Medical Examinations.
This centre was formed under the guidance of Director Health Services Air Commodore DMS Karunarathne and it was declared open by the Commandant of SLAF Academy China Bay Air Commodore SK Pathirana on the invitation of the Commanding Officer of the Hospital Wing Commander TVSS Alwis.
