A Nanasala / communication shop/ telephone booth was set up at the SLAF Academy, China Bay in compliance with the government initiatives to provide access to “diverse and unrestricted sources of information and means of communication” to all citizens.

This was declared open by the Commandant of SLAF Academy China Bay Air Commodore SK Pathirana on 6 February 2013 and this unit aims to upgrade the living standards of all serving personnel of SLAF Academy with equal affordable access to Information and Communication Technology based services.
