The first leg of the Guwan Hamuda Papedi Sawariya 2013 from AFHQ Colombo to Dambulla organized was flagged off by the Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal HD Abeywickrama this morning. The event is sponsored by LG Abans and the media partner Rupavahini (Channel Eye). The Chief of Staff Air Vice Marshal KA Gunatilleke, the President of the Interim Committee of the Cycling Federation Air Vice Marshal GP Bulathsinghala, the Air Force Board of Management, senior officers, officers, other ranks and many cycling enthusiasts were present at the start of the event. A total of 126 cyclists from 13 clubs were flagged off and cyclists from Jaffna and Trincomalee were also part of the list.
