Counseling and Leadership Development Workshop for Children

A Counseling and Leadership development training workshop exclusively for the children in the age group of 13 to 18 was conducted under the patronage of Mrs. Wasantha Fernando, the President of SVU of SLAF Station Colombo from 0900hrs to 1300Hrs on 10 April 13 at the Rifle Green Pavilion.
The objectives of the workshop were to develop leadership abilities, effective engagement for team building activities, problem solving, enhancing positive thinking to achieve educational objectives and future challenges.
Mr. KR Lakshman, The Deputy Manager of the Western Province Psycho Social Intervention and Counseling Resources Centre and Mr. Nimal Jayasiri the student counselor of the Gampaha Zone conducted the entire workshop.
A total of 55 teenagers actively participated at the workshop which would no doubt prove highly beneficial to them in numerous ways to build team spirit and to stand in good stead when carrying out their educational and extra curricular activities.
Director Health Services Air Cdre DMS Karunarathne graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The Commanding Officer SLAF Station Colombo Air Cdre KFR Fernando, Mrs Wasantha Fernando, Mrs Nilanthi Hewawasam and Officer in Charge of SVU of SLAF Station Colombo Wg Cdr Pathirana were also present at the event.
