“Kayaking” is the latest addition to the list of sports of the Sri Lanka Air Force. Kayakers from the Air Force participated at the recently held ‘Navy Cup Sprint Kayak Championship’ organized by the Sri Lanka Navy in the icy waters of Lake Gregory, Nuwara Eliya on 15 April 2013. LAC Pathum UDS was Runner - up and LAC Tharanga DVGI finished fourth in the Men’s 250 metres sprint event competing against the much experienced team from Sri Lanka Navy. Mr Prithi Perera the President of National Association of Canoeing and Kayaking in Sri Lanka graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
