SLAF Base Vavuniya  emerged Champions in the Inter Unit Handball Championship 2013 held on 26th April 2013 at the NYSC Indoor Stadium Maharagama. In the final, SLAF Base Vavuniya  beat No.26 Regiment Wing of SLAF Base Katunayake by 26 points to 13.

Head Coach of the SLAF Handball team Mr. Daniel Cochard graced the finals as the Chief Guest. Chairman SLAF Handball Group Captain JA Nanayakkara , Deputy Chairman SL Army Handball Colonel R Gunasekara and Chairman SL Navy Handball Commander D Pathberiya were also present at the final.
