Change of command at SLAF Base Vavuniya ,SLAF Base Ratmalana, SLAF Academy China Bay and SLAF Base Katunayake were held recently. Former Chief Instructor of the Air Wing at the Defence Services Command and Staff Collage Air Commodore MDAP Payoe took over the Command of the SLAF Base Vavuniya from Air Commodore PDKT Jayasingha on 03 Jun 13. The Traditional “Handing over and Taking over” parade was held and it was commanded by Wing Commander  ADM Koralage.

Air Commodore PDKT Jayasinghe former Base Commander SLAF Base Vavuniya took over the Base Commander duties of the SLAF Base Ratmalana in officially at the "Handing over Taking over" parade from Air Commodore HMSKB Kotakadeniya on 05th June 2013.This was followed by a religious ceremony held to bless the new Base Commander.

Air Commodore SK Pathirana handed over the Command SLAF Academy China Bay to Air Commodore HMSKB Kotakadeniya was the Base Commander of the SLAF Base Ratmalana on 07th June 2013.The traditional "Handing over Taking over" parade was held and it was commanded by Group Captain CJ Batagoda.

The Command of the SLAF Base  Katunayake which is the largest Base of Sri Lanka Air Force was handed over to the Air Commodore SK Pathirana by the Air Commodore DLS Dias on 10th June 2013. Air Commodore SK Pathirana was the Commandant of the SLAF Academy China Bay. The event was followed by a religious ceremony held to bless the new Base Commander.
