The Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal HD Abeywickrama conducted annual AOC’s Inspection of SLAF Unit Koggala and SLAF Station Katukurunda on 26th July 2013.

The Commander was welcomed by the Commanding Officer Wing Commander SC Wijayanayake and was accorded a Street Lining at the Unit premises. The Commander awarded Commendations to Sgt Pushpakumara BAC (PTI SP I) and Mr. PBM Saman (Labourer III) for their outstanding meritorious services rendered towards the development of the Unit.
 
During the course of the inspection the Commander visited all areas of the Unit and on conclusion of the inspection where he addressed all ranks praised the commendable job they had performed and encouraged them to set and reach even higher goals.

At SLAF Katukurunda, Commanding Officer Wing Commander PSN Fernando received the Commander on his arrival and was accorded a Street Lining which was commanded by Flying Officer MTL Fernando.

The Commander inspected all areas within the Station including the recently renovated Main Guard Room, Medical Section and also declared open the newly constructed Officers’ Mess during the inspection. The customary address by the Commander to all personnel was made on completion of the inspection.
