SLAF Colombo Pre-School Annual Sport Meet - 2013

The Sri Lanka Air Force Pre-School Colombo,
held its annual sports meet on 30th July 2013 at the Rifle Green
Grounds, Colombo.
Hoisting of the National Flag was followed by the lighting of symbolic Olympic torch started the proceedings for the day. A lot of children’s games and fun activities were organized to give them a day full of enjoyment. The Kids’ Band display and Drill display took the attention of the personnel who witnessed the sports meet.
The establishment of pre-schools on international standards in Air Force establishments located around the country was a concept introduced by the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit. This indeed generates immense value, as it eases the burden of providing quality early education for children of personnel serving in the SLAF as well as for the children of people living in the vicinity of SLAF establishments.
The Chairperson of the SLAF Seva Vanitha Unit, Mrs. Neelika Abeywickrama graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and distributed the prizes and gifts among the children whilst Air Cdre PDA Maristella, Mrs. Samanthi Bulathsinghala, Mrs. Jini Wijemanne, the Commanding Officer of SLAF Station Colombo Group Captain DJC Weerakoon and Mrs. Niranjala Weerakoon the president of Seva Vanitha Unit of SLAF Station Colombo were also present at the event.
Dinaly Sakithma Weerasekara a student of the Kindergarten conducted the vote of thanks to mark the termination points for the fun filled day.
