Annual Commander's Inspection of SLAF TTS Ekala and SLAF Unit Mirigama

The Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal HD Abeywickrama conducted the Annual Inspection of SLAF Trade Training School (TTS) Ekala and SLAF Unit Mirigama on 02nd August 2013. The Commanding Officer SLAF TTS Ekala, Group Captain P Ranasinghe received the Commander and was afforded a street lining which was commanded by Flying Officer NK Thilakarathne.
The Commander awarded commendations to F/ Sgt Jayaweera WBMG (Plumber SP I), Sgt (AW) Gunarathne BRSSK (Ops Grd SP I), Sgt Wickramarachchi WCR (Ops Grd SP I), Sgt (AW) De Mel AS (Supply SP I), Sgt Dhammika AAN (Aero Eng Fitter SP I) and Sgt De Silva HNR (Mess Supervisor I), for their exceptional dedication in the execution of duties during the past year.
During the course of the inspections the Commander declared open the Modal Electronic Laboratory and visited all areas of the school including the training area, was visibly impressed by the innovative projects prepared by the various trade trainees of the TTS. On conclusion of the inspection, the Commander addressed all ranks of the TTS at the Auditorium and praised the commendable job they had performed and encouraged them to set and reach even higher goals.
At SLAF Unit Mirigama, the Commander upon the arrival for the inspection was received by the Commanding Officer SLAF Unit Mirigama Group Captain SCK Pallawela and was afforded a street lining which was commanded by Flying Officer GGRL Pathiraja.
During the inspection, the Commander declared open Air Defence Command and Control Centre (ADC&CC) which was recently relocated from SLAF Base Katunayake. A certificate of Commendation was awarded to Mr. WPS Chandrasiri (labour) in appreciation of his valuable service rendered towards the development of the Unit.
On conclusion of the inspection the Commander addressed the Officers, Airmen, the Civilian staff of the Unit. During the address he highlighted the importance of the development carried out in the Unit and described the value of implementing more new projects. He further emphasized that all members of the SLAF should maintain the highest standards both inside and outside the SLAF.
