Workshop for SLAF Pre-School Teachers

A workshop for Pre-school teachers of the Sri Lanka Air Force was conducted by the Directorate of Welfare in collaboration with the Seva Vanitha Unit from 0800hrs to 1800hrs today (4th August 2013) at AFHQ old conference hall.
The objectives of the workshop were to upgrade and share knowledge of all teachers concerning new trends in early childhood development and to conduct a discussion on practical application to inculcate positive attitudes and to resolve the difficulties encountered. A Progress Review Conference on Text Books was also part of the workshop.
Mr. Sarachandra Kuruppuarachchi the Director Early Childhood and Primary Education, National Institute of Education (NIE), Maharagama conducted the morning session on “New Trends in Early Childhood Development”. The facilitator Squadron Leader P Godage also lectured on “Overall Management Systems” during the evening session.
A total of 46 pre-school teachers from 10 different pre-schools scattered around the country actively participated to showcase their talents on different themes at the exhibition conducted to conclude the workshop.
