The Commander of the Air Force Air Marshal HD Abeywickrama conducted the Annual Inspection of SLAF Unit Bandaranayake International Airport and SLAF Station Palavi on 08th August 2013.

The Commanding Officer SLAF Unit Bandaranayake International Airport, Group Captain KKAK Kaluarachchi received the Commander who was afforded a street lining which was commanded by Flight Lieutenant MCN Rathnayake.

During the course of the inspections the Commander visited all areas of the Unit. On conclusion of the inspection, the Commander addressed all ranks of the Unit and praised the commendable job they had performed. The Commander awarded commendations to Mr. MP Ariyasena for his outstanding meritorious work.

At SLAF Station Palavi, Commanding Officer Group Captain K Wannigama received the Commander on his arrival and a Street Lining commanded by Flight Lieutenant HL Panditha was accorded to the Air Chief.

Cpl Wijesinghe WAA (Clk Gd Sp I), Mr. RANC Wijerathne and Mr. HJ Perera were commended by the Commander for exceptional dedication in the execution of duties during the past year.

The Commander concluded the inspection by addressing all ranks of SLAF Station Palavi.
