Sky Flash 2013 Starts With a Success

The novel event for the ‘Rajarata’ region Sky Flash 2013, the air show and the educational exhibition was declared open by Director Aeronautical Engineering of the Sri Lanka Air Force Air Vice Marshal PDJ Kumarasiri today (5th September 2013) at SLAF Base Hingurakgoda. Sky Flash 2013 is meant to bring the SLAF closer to the public in the area.
The Chief Guest paid a visit to each and every exhibit and also looked over the facilities before the others to make sure everything was perfect. A large number of school students were first to get the opportunity to witness the exhibition where they were educated in aspects aeronautical and others.
Towards the evening one saw the crowd growing. People, not only from the vicinity, but also from the surrounding cities of Polonnaruwa were also among the crowd on the opening day. The exhibition is spread around 15 acres of land with over 100 stalls consisting of exhibits, souvenir stalls, food stalls, clothes stalls, beauty parlours, etc catering to almost all of one's requirements.
Furthermore, live aircraft shows, band shows, drill displays, Regiment special forces displays, air dog shows, attire displays (fashion shows featuring SLAF personnel) and a beat will provide by the ‘Sanidapa’ in the latter part of the day, made the exhibition a lively fast paced area for the whole day. A separate area for children and other fun-games which were organised ensured that every one of the family got what they wanted.
With all these attractions, Sky Flash 2013 will continue until 9th September 2013 for all of you to taste a different kind exhibition at the Sri Lanka Air Force Base Hingurakgoda.
