Annual AOC’s Inspection at SLAF Unit Weerawila

The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal HD Abeywickrama, conducted the AOCs inspection at SLAF Unit Weerawila this morning (26th September 2013). The Commander, upon arrival for the inspection, was received into the camp premises by the Commanding Officer, Group Captain MDJ Wasage, through a street lining which was commanded by Flight Lieutenant RD Gunawaradana.
During the course of the inspection the Commander visited all areas and declared open the newly constructed Supply Section, Electronic Section, Dog Section and the all Ranks Pub. A Certificate of commendation was awarded to Sergeant Gunawardana DCM(Air Frame Fitter SP) for his meritorious contribution to the Unit in particular and to the Air Force in general.
Concluding the inspection, the Commander addressed all ranks including the civilian personnel and commended their hard work to uplift the standards of the Unit and emphasized the need to contribute their best to the Air Force as well as to the motherland at all times.
